You have to be one or the other-Morning or Night?

So are you a morning person or a night owl? I tend to be a morning person as I can get a ton of work done before most people get up. No phones, no distractions like TV, no one to bug you. I just get up and get on the computer that never shuts off and get my blogs done, my clients emailed, my searches done. Then when the paper comes I read for a bit, hop in the shower, and off I go.

Of course I am dead by 8PM! I don't have an issue with it, but I am ready to go to bed early, around 9:30 or 10 and miss a lot of good TV shows. By Friday night I am pretty whipped and usually fall asleep after dinner on the couch. Works for me!

My wife, who claims she is a morning person and is not, gets annoyed that I fall asleep on the couch. But I am good with it. Bring on the sunrise and a good cup of coffee on a summer morning and I am good to go!

Dennis, I disagree respectfully...because I think you can be both. Some days I'm an early bird up before the sun rises  and other times I am a night owl  and stay up all night. My second job is a Night Auditor at the Best Western Hotel and I work the night shift 11:30pm to 7:30 am. On my days off from the hotel I go to bed early and I am up at the crack of dawn. Happy Holidays!

Opposites attract in this house....I get more done 4-7 than I sometimes do all day...but if you want late night "burn the midnight oil" David is the person. I think our body clocks are set early on....and lifestyles continue to foster the pattern, knowing when we are most productive is key to being just that....happiest of holidays.

Hey Dennis-in my younger years sleep wasn't that important to me and I enjoyed the nightlife (think Disco days:). Now it is a different story-I wake up at the time I used to go to bed! Predawn and some strong coffee, quite world, my world, its a great way to start and face the day head on. Problem is by 9 I am fading but thats not a problem in my book.

Carlotta-that is pretty strange. I would say if you wake up naturally early then you are a morning person who forces themselves to stay up for a job.

Sally-us too. I just try not to wake her.

Marco-me too. We go out with friends and we go home at the time we used to go out! Bring on the happy hours!

I too have become a morning person as I got older Dennis, and there is something about the fabric on that couch that puts us to sleep.

Dennis

I'm a night owl, for the same reasons you mention -- peace and quiet when everyone else is asleep. Except instead of a cup of coffee, I have a glass of wine. My significant other, on the other hand, is a morning person. Opposites really do attract.

Al-might take a nap on that couch today.

Joshua-problem is that my body doesn't know its Saturday!

Pacita-Wine would knock me out in the evening, and does!
